A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is stilled.

 A place is Vacant in our hearts that can never be filled.

 

On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, Denise Antoinette Sapp was that beautiful flower planted in the garden of Heaven.  Denise was born July 12, 1992, to Linda D. Haywood and Anthony Craig Sapp in San Antonio, Texas.  Since an early age, Denise has lived with her grandparents and legal Guardians, Marguerite and Hanklin (Hank) Sapp in Floresville, Texas where she was living at the time of her death on February 10, 2015.

 

Denise accepted Christ and was baptized by Rev. L.A. Williams at Wheatley Heights Baptist Church. She sang in the Children’s choir and participated in other children activities. She later became a member of Tree Mount Temple Church pastored by Rev. Artistide Brown.  Denise participated in Sunday school and Bible Study and she also sang in the Youth Choir.  In 2006, along with her grandparents, she joined New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, Pastored by Dr. Paul D. Stevens and actively participated in the Youth Ministry, Sunday School and  helped in the Community Ministry program on days when she was not in school. On February 1, 2015, Denise rejoined Tree Mount Temple Church where she served as a faithful member until her death. 

 

Denise began her formal education by attending Camelot Pre-Kinder School at the age of three years old.  After one year, she was enrolled at Antioch Christian Academy where she completed the fourth grade.  She completed fifth grade at St. Benedict Catholic School. Denise later transferred to Floresville Middle School where she was a Cheerleader. She graduated from Floresville High School in the Class of June 2010.  While attending Floresville High school Denise was a member of the Business and Professional Association and a representative for that group in the Floresville Peanut Festival Parade. She was also a student assistant coach for both track and basketball. Denise was an active member of the San Antonio Metropolitan Chapter of Top Teens of America and the San Antonio Youth Council of the NAACP who performed community service throughout the city.  She was the Zeta Phi Beta Miss Blue Revue Queen in 2007 and a contestant in the Queen of Soul Pageant for 2010. After graduation from high school, she attended St. Philip’s College for one semester and later transferred to Prairie View A & M University. Upon completing her studies there, she returned home to enroll in Palo Alto College. After Palo Alto, she transferred to Texas A&M University at San Antonio as a junior pursuing a Degree in Psychology. At the time of her death, she was employed by The Robert Hart (RH) Financial Operations Group.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory: Mother, Linda Haywood; Father, Anthony Sapp; brother, Donovan Berry and sister, Serenity Sapp of San Antonio, TX; Grandparents: Marguerite and Hanklin Sapp of Floresville, TX; William Haywood of Fairfield, CA and Joyce Little of San Antonio, TX; Aunts Kimberly Ann Sapp of New Braunfels, TX and Jackie Little of San Antonio, TX, Uncle, Ricky Sapp of Palo Alto, CA.  Also left to mourn her passing are two nieces and a best friend since Kindergarten,  ArLeya Horne and a host of cousins, other family members and close friends who loved her dearly.
