Alice Mae Hilliard was the fifth of six children born to Young East Hilliard and Callie (Cunningham) on August 13, 1913 in Hallettsville, Texas. The family moved to Houston, Texas when Alice was a small child. She was converted and baptized at the Church of God as a child and attended the Public schools, graduating from Wheatley High School and attended Prairie View College for two years.

Alice moved to San Diego, California in 1938 and here she met and married Charles Wagoner and two children were blessed to this union. She united with the Church of God here in San Diego under the leadership of Rev. Walker and served under Rev. Edwards and the other pastors of the church until her death began to fail in November of 1977. She kept the faith through the years, and God called her home on Tuesday, March 7, 1978 at 1:14am.


Survivors include her two children, Alice M. Lundy and Lewis Vernon Wagoner.. Two sisters Leola Boone and Quincy Mae Upton both of Compton, California. Brother, Reverend John Hilliard of Houston, Texas. Four grandchildren, Celeste Wagoner, Corie Lundy, Lewis V. Wagoner Jr. And Marc Anthony Wagoner. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn her homegoing.
